1. Hemalatha, who was 15 years old,was found by Madurai CHILDLINE, who learned that the girl belongs to Mysuru. Two female staff of Madurai CHILDLINE brought her to the nodal office, at ODP. The Nodal Director and coordinator talked to the girl and got the information that the child was deserted by her parents at an early age. She was residing in one of the convents of Mysuru. A donor was supporting her for her education for some time. Once the education aid was stopped she left the convent and went to Madurai on her own. She was residing in the Home for women at Madurai. The Madurai CHILDLINE found the girl during the investigation and they referred her to Mysuru CHILDLINE since she was aged below 18, as per the rules she was not not suppose to stay in the Home for Women. The Nodal Coordinator of CHILDLINE produced the girl in CWC Mysuru, from where the girl was referred to Balakiyara Bala Bhavan, Mysuru. Presently she learning Beautician course.
  2. On 6th October, 2014, CHILDLINE got a call stating that a 4 day old baby was thrown in a dustbin in JP Nagar Mysuru. Immediately the CHILDLINE team visited the spot, rescued the baby and took the child to KR. Hospital for treatment. On 7th October the baby was produced to CWC; and from CWC the baby was sent to Bapuji Children’s home, where he is now. The baby is named as Arun.
