To improve the quality of life of all families in our working area by increasing their awareness about health and hygiene, providing sood potable water supply through individual household water point connections and stopping open defecation culture by constructing individual toilets in every house.
- To bring awareness among the general public on clean drinking water, hygiene and proper use of precious water without wasteage.
- To reduce instance of water borne diseases through use of clean drinking water.
- TO improve the sanitary condition in and around homes and in villages at large.
Health and Sanitation are some of the major concerns of ODP. Since its inception, ODP has given much importance to water management and laid great emphasis on health and sanitation. Water is a basic need of people, essential for the survival of humankind and live-stock. Sanitation, given its proper place, keeps humankind and livestock healthy, prosperous and dignified. ODP has been planning and implementing safe and potable drinking water projects for the poor and needy in remote and water scares areas. These project was supported by CAPART New Delhi, KROSS Bangalore, Water.Org USA and Zilla Panchayath of Chamarajanagar. ODP has constructed 7,808 toilets and 226 water & sanitation units with the support of ZP, CAPART & Water.Org under Water and Sanitation Project. 81 Rain Water Harvesting units, 1518 water points, 22 bore-wells, 5 Overhead Tanks, 1 school water supply system – are set up for providing potable water.
