The district of Kodagu weathered one of the most catastrophic monsoon seasons in its recorded history. Persistent, torrential downpours triggered a dual crisis — widespread hydraulic flooding and devastating landslides that tore through the taluks of Madikeri and Somwarpet. Entire villages were displaced, leaving a trail of structural ruin and profound human grief in their wake.
In alignment with our mission to serve vulnerable communities during periods of acute instability, ODP launched an immediate, multi-phase humanitarian intervention to provide relief, restoration, and hope to the people of Kodagu. The response unfolded across three phases, detailed below.
Rapid mobilization & resource aggregation
Understanding that time is the most critical factor in disaster response, ODP initiated a large-scale public appeal and mobilization drive.
- The Mysuru City Campaign — ODP personnel and student volunteers deployed to 20 strategic locations across Mysuru for a day of intensive fundraising.
