Our policies, in plain view

ODP maintains a set of organisational policies that guide how we work, protect the people we serve, and hold our staff accountable. This page summarises what's in place, starting with the two policies that safeguard people most directly.

Policies and procedures are what keep an organisation running smoothly and consistently. Without them, decisions are made ad hoc and rules end up different for every person who applies them. ODP's policy framework exists to close that gap — for employees, for the communities we work with, and for anyone who interacts with the organisation.

Eight policies currently sit within this framework, covering people, money, environment, health, and monitoring. Two of them — the prevention of sexual harassment and child protection — have dedicated committees you can contact directly, detailed below.

Eight policies, one framework

Each slice is a policy area within ODP's governance framework. POSH and CPP are highlighted in gold because they're backed by standing committees with published contacts — the focus of this page.

Full names: HR, Gender, Finance, Environment, HIV/AIDS, PME (Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation), POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment), CPP (Child Protection Policy).

Vishaka Policy

Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the Workplace (POSH)

ODP maintains a POSH policy so that every employee has a safe, secure, and enabling environment, free from sexual harassment. Awareness sessions run across staff and other stakeholders to keep that commitment visible, not just written down. A standing POSH committee is in place, and any employee can raise a grievance directly with a committee member.

Safeguarding

Child Protection Policy (CPP)

Child safeguarding is ODP's responsibility to make sure its staff, operations, and programmes never put a child at risk of harm or abuse. Where a concern does arise about a child's safety in the communities we work with, it is reported to the appropriate authorities. A CPP committee is in place, and employees can bring concerns to any committee member.
