The Livelihood Enhancement Program (LEP) is a strategic initiative designed to break the cycle of poverty by fostering self-reliance and economic stability. Spotlight: Sustainable Animal Husbandry — recognizing livestock as a renewable economic resource, we help families move from subsistence to surplus-generating rearing. Livestock is "living capital": a steady stream of income from milk, eggs and wool, organic fertilizer, and a safety net through lean seasons.

Our Support Framework includes resource provision (access to quality breeds and rearing infrastructure), veterinary and technical guidance, and market integration that connects small-scale rearers to fair-value supply chains.

At its core, a Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) is more than a collective — it is a paradigm shift in rural economics. By transitioning from individual subsistence to organized enterprise, our FPOs empower small and marginal landholders to reclaim their place in the value chain.

The goal is clear: to ensure superior income and long-term financial security for producers through an organization they truly own.

The Micro-Entrepreneurship Development Programme (MEDP) is a flagship initiative dedicated to transforming the economic landscape for disadvantaged communities. By bridging the gap between raw potential and professional execution, we empower aspiring entrepreneurs — with a primary focus on women — to transition from subsistence to sustainable financial independence.

Our approach combines rigorous technical vocational training with robust business mentorship, ensuring every participant is equipped to launch, manage, and scale a successful income-generating enterprise.

Since 1992, ODP has been dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through our flagship Family Development Project. In partnership with Save A Family Plan India (SAFPI) — founded by Msgr. Augustine Kandathil in 1965 — we operate under a singular vision: partnering with the poor for a just world.

The Path to Transformation

1. Rigorous Selection: families are proposed by Self-Help Groups and undergo multi-tier verification by field animators, coordinators, and the ODP Family Facilitation team.
2. Strategic Approval: final verification by SAFPI ensures transparency and alignment with global standards.
3. Capacity Building: selected families receive entrepreneurship training and field-level coaching.
4. Resource Mobilization: we bridge families to government resources and available benefits.
5. Sustainable Growth: income-generation activities move families beyond a hand-to-mouth existence.

Who We Serve: families in extreme poverty with unstable income, widow-led households and abandoned women raising children alone, and families caring for members with physical or mental disabilities.

At ODP, our nursery operations represent the foundational heartbeat of our environmental mission. We don't just grow saplings; we engineer the biological building blocks of a resilient future. By integrating scientific precision with sustainable silviculture, we produce high-vigor specimens designed to thrive in diverse landscapes.
