Grama Vikasa Swa-Sahaya Sanghagala Maha Okkutta (GVSSSMO):
ODP felt that farmers SHG could be promoted separately and collaborative space could be given both men and women to come together for the integrated development of the community, Hence men’s group was initiated from the year 1999-2000. Farmers Federation an apex level body of all the farmers groups – Grama Vikasa Swa- Sahaya Sanghagala Maha Okkuta (GVSSMO) is formedObjectives:
• To make members aware of sustainable and low cost agricultural practices and technologies;
• To improve seed storage facilities and market agricultural products;
• To develop need based linkages for mobilization of resources;
• To give timely support to its members for agricultural activities and Income Generation Activities.
As on 30.04.2015 , GVSSMO consist of 263 farmers groups/40 Central Committes with 4389 members/585 leader respectively – with a focus on better productivity and organic agriculture for an integrated development of village communities.
